Loooooong, long ago, ………when I was about smsfhk years old…..I had a few opportunities to play with Buck Owens at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield.  Buck actually passed away ON my birthday!  Ugh. Talk about a buzz kill.  Anyway, I hadn’t been back to the Palace after that for almost ten years.  One day, I emailed Jim Shaw randomly (he’s the band manager and that guy playin’ the killer keyboard on the left) and asked if he remembered me.  He said yes and I asked if I could sit in on a set like old times.  He invited me down and let me do a couple of features and then finish off the last half of their set.  Orange Blossom Special is one that they have always had me play there on every visit.  Here’s a clip of the final round at our top speed.
