Biscuits and Gravy Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sauce

  • Pad of butter

  • half sweet onion, minced

  • 3 cloves, minced

  • 3 1/2 - 4 cups milk

  • 4-5 TBSP flour

  • 1 can biscuits, halved (grands)

  • Salt/pepper to taste

 

Directions

  1. preheat oven for biscuits

  2. brown sausage and break up as fine as possible (salt/pep)

  3. remove from pan and set aside

  4. add onions and garlic; cook til translucent and soft (salt/pep)

  5. add sausage back and sprinkle entire mixture with flour; cook 2 min

  6. add milk and simmer; stir til desired consistency (if need thicker, add some milk to a TBSP of flour in separate bowl, mix and add to gravy mix)

  7. add and adjust salt and pepper; taste gravy before moving on

  8. transfer gravy to baking dish if needed (gravy should come up 1-2 inches)

  9. lay halved, moon shaped biscuits on top and bake 15-16 min (serve with scrambled eggs)
