Me:  “Do I annoy you?”

Adam:  “No.”

Me:  “Really?   Even when I talk during TV shows? And I’m secretly trying not to, but do anyway?”

Adam:  “No.”

Me:  “Why not?”

Adam:  “I just listen harder.”

Me:  “You do?”

Adam:  “Uh-huh.  Like how I pause the TV when you really get going?  And then I stare at you?  I just do that so I get all the plot points for when you ask me stuff later.”

Me:  “Awww.  Wow, that’s so sweet!  I mean, who else is ever really gonna love me like that?”

Adam:  “Deaf people.”
